Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Treasurer, supervise the receiving of all supplies and equipment, rotation of stock and maintaining adequate inventory levels; receives and stores products in accordance with DOC policy and procedures. Stock is rotated and used according to receiving dates; maintains records and logs of items received, issued, and shipped. Supervises storekeepers of lower grades. Responsible to maintain level of cleanliness at warehouse and prepare health and safety inspection report. Performs monthly inventories as required. Possess good organizational skills; deal effectively with staff; and exercise sound judgment. Knowledge of Material Handling Equipment, (Forklifts, electric pallet jacks) including general office equipment. Possess valid Massachusetts’s driver’s license. May be required to drive a non-CDL box truck. Knowledge of standard storekeeping methods and practices knowledge of principles and methods of inventory control. Coordinate activities of workers engaged in storekeeping activities to ensure effective operations and compliance with established standards. Supervise inmate work crew and ensure accountability of such crew. Other duties as assigned.
