Role Summary:
Reporting directly to the Operations Support Services Manager or Designee, this position involves the overall support required for the delivery of products and services to plant operations as it relates to materials/service acquisition. The storeroom coordinator will assist other departments by ordering and expediting materials while assuring that proper procedures and policies are followed. Primary areas of focus include materials management, supplier management, and supporting their team by taking an active role in team meetings, problem solving tasks, team activities, and team and plant-wide subgroups focusing on the plant goals of safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
Responsibilities:
Conducts cycle counts of total storeroom and ensures procedures are followed to ensure an annual average of >95% accuracy. Expedites MRO material orders using PeopleSoft or with a P-Card. Obtains prices, quotes, and availability for various items (e.g.: MRO items, services and P-card items). Prepares purchase orders and requisitions. Contacts vendors if MRO materials are incorrectly shipped or if service is not met. Orders various products and services from vendors. Shares in updating Peoplesoft on cancellations, price changes, due dates, quantity differences, and vendor information updates. Performs other special projects and duties as directed by the Operations Support Services Manager or Supply Chain Manager. Works on maintaining current vendor information updates such as contacts, addresses, banking information, and PO dispatch information using the existing Corning systems such as eMDV. Converts MRP requisition to purchase orders. Resolves problem invoices that might be rejected, in match exception, or on save for later using the proper channels and systems in place in order to insure smooth and timely payment. Trains new production associates on how to navigate PeopleSoft/Maximo for tool crib parts. Assist with the investigation of Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA), notifications and customer complaints, providing solutions where possible and communicating feedback. Works on keeping the SR in order, accurate SR descriptions, vendor management, rebuild items clearly labeled, and deactivation of parts no longer used. Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 7-4:30 pm in a 24/7 manufacturing facility
Required Education: High School diploma
Required Years and Area of Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in Purchasing or equivalent in related field. Understanding of how a purchase order/receiving system operates.
Required Skills:
Must have the ability to work independently using strong time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple assignments and interact with maintenance, operations, and vendors. Must have a working knowledge of spreadsheet applications and word processing (such as Microsoft Excel and Word) to perform necessary tasks for preparing all correspondence, reports, and communication. Must have a working knowledge of ERP systems. Must have computer and typing skills required to ensure proper input of information on incoming and outgoing material to the computer database.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of good manufacturing practices Good understanding of Continuous Improvement Methodologies, including lean, six sigma, & 5S.

The range for this position is $44,362.00 - $60,999.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
