Business Unit: Consumer Operations - Covington

POSITION TYPE: Full Time, Employee

 

The Storeroom Manager’s responsibilities will include:

Responsible for the full life cycle management of Smurfit WestRock’s large investment in onsite parts and material inventory to support production reliability at the lowest total cost of ownership.Drive and support safety both within the department and throughout the operation.Significant Financial Responsibilities are associated with this role.  Close working relationship required with key stakeholders.Lead with integrity to meet the behavioral expectations of a Manager within the Business.Supervise the activities and performance of salaried staff and hourly workforce to meet defined business objectives including managing the processes of materials receiving, storage, issuing, cycle counting for accuracy, internal and external material repairs, kitting and delivery to maintenance and operations as requested, and material re-order based on item level min/max and inventory targets.  Proactively develop reports to a higher level of performance through effective leadership, teamwork, and coaching.Communicate and manage relationships with key stakeholders including Operations, Maintenance, Finance, Suppliers, Procurement, Process Improvement, AP, and CBT.Process development / improvement and problem resolution to meet reliability and cost objectives.Communicate KPI’s for Storeroom operation and service to the business unit while managing all financial commitments including the Department Budget.  Some topics for discussion may include over max reduction, obsolete or slow-moving inventory, shared spares, consignment; and vendor managed solutions.Must comply with all corporate Inventory Policies while meeting Sarbanes Oxley requirements. (Evaluation through internal and external audits)Expected to support Corporate Procurement Initiatives. Assist shared services (CBT & AP) through issue resolution and process refinement.Support the strategic sourcing process by providing input during the data analysis stage and through engagement during the implementation and management phase.   Maximize the value the company receives through its contracts while meeting the needs of the Business.Work in close collaboration with peer Storeroom Managers from other business locations to define and implement strategies for process improvement; service enhancement; and improvement in reliability, performance, and total cost of ownership.Responsible that all employees understand and utilize all safety requirements of job functions; in addition to use all required PPE during job tasks.  Position requires full knowledge of safety requirements and ensure compliance and accountability.  Working knowledge all safety procedures (including LOTO, fall protection, confined space entry, hot work and JHA for each position, proper guarding, seat belts, dock locks, etc.).  Employee must follow standard work procedures and safe work.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

5-10 years of experience in MRO materials supply operation supporting a large manufacturing facility. (3-6 Direct Salary Reports and 10 – 15 Hourly Reports)Strong SAP knowledge in inventory management along with purchasing and maintenance with the ability to teach and share with others as required.Strong computer skills, primarily Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel with the ability to deliver strong data analysis results.Must have good communication skills, verbal and written. (ability to deliver presentations to management as required)Must be an aggressive, self-starter who has good organizational skills.Apprenticeship / bachelor’s degree and/ or advanced degree recommended.Occasional travel required.
