Stormwater Compliance Senior Manager

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in regulatory compliance, client consulting, business development, and the ability to train and mentor junior staff. This role is a unique opportunity for a senior-level consultant to make a significant impact on clients' stormwater compliance programs while contributing to business growth and development. **What you can expect from APTIM:** + Work that is worthy of your time and talent + Respect and flexibility to live a full life at work and at home + Dogged determination to deliver for our clients and communities + A voice in making our company better + Investment into your personal and professional development **Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:** + Stormwater Compliance Consulting & Leadership: + Lead and manage complex stormwater compliance projects for clients in various industries, ensuring compliance with NPDES permits, both industrial and construction. + Provide expert consulting on stormwater management practices, including site assessments, development of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), and implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs). + Train staff and oversee stormwater audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure compliance with state and federal stormwater regulations. + Review and analyze NPDES permit conditions and other regulatory requirements, providing clients with actionable recommendations to ensure compliance. + Client Relationship Management & Consulting Services: + Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, offering expert advice and building strong, long-term relationships. + Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and regulatory challenges, and provide tailored stormwater compliance solutions. + Support clients with NPDES permit applications, renewals, and reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of all documentation. + Provide clients with regular updates on regulatory changes and stormwater management best practices, helping them stay ahead of compliance challenges. + Training and Development of Junior Staff: + Mentor and train junior consultants and staff, providing guidance on stormwater management regulations, NPDES compliance, and best practices. + Develop and deliver training programs on stormwater management, compliance procedures, and client management to ensure junior staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their roles. + Review and provide feedback on the work of junior staff, ensuring high-quality deliverables and fostering professional growth. + Business Development & Growth: + Drive business development activities by identifying new business opportunities, including expanding existing client relationships and pursuing new clients in both the industrial and commercial sectors. + Direct preparation of proposals and cost schedules for new business opportunities. + Collaborate with senior leadership to create and implement strategies for business growth, including targeting key markets and industries. + Project Management and Reporting: + Manage multiple stormwater compliance projects simultaneously, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with regulatory requirements. + Oversee the preparation of comprehensive stormwater compliance reports, discharge monitoring reports (DMRs), and other regulatory documentation for clients, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy. + Monitor project budgets, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring client satisfaction and meeting financial goals. **Basic Qualifications:** **Education & Experience:** + Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. + Minimum of 10 years of experience in stormwater management and compliance, with a strong focus on NPDES permit compliance for both generic and industrial stormwater systems. + Stormwater credential such as QSP, QSD, CESSWI, CPESC or other preferred **Skills & Abilities:** + Expertise in NPDES stormwater regulations and compliance for both industrial and generic facilities, including SWPPP development, permit applications, and reporting. + Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor junior staff and deliver effective training programs. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex regulatory concepts to clients and internal teams. + Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and deliver high-quality results on time. **Working Conditions:** + Occasional travel to client sites for inspections, audits, and consultations is required. + Some flexibility for remote work, though in-person meetings with clients or field visits will be necessary. **Who we are and what we do:** APTIM is a global industry leader headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
