Gannett Fleming’s Owings Mills, MD office is looking for a Stormwater Engineer with a strong civil background, to support planning, design, and construction management activities for a variety of projects.

 

Responsibilities:

 

In this role you will be responsible primarily for design and project management of the work for water resources details related to transportation projects. The successful candidate will provide leadership, direction, organization, and guidance to ensure that quality management, design and technical services are provided to clients and that performance targets are met. You will also be responsible for planning, design, and management of water resources-related design projects including storm water management, drainage, NPDES stormwater retrofits, Low Impact Development, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, bridge scour, stream restoration, county and state permitting, and construction phase services.  This position will provide the candidate with the ability to manage and mentor multiple junior engineers in a role designed to primarily be a project manager.  Some design and production will still be required. You will be expected to meet with and interact with the client with minimal oversight from the Water Resources manager.

B.S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Water Resources Engineering or related field of practice is required. Master’s Degree is a plus.An ideal candidate will have 5-10 years’ experience in civil site design, with direct involvement in stormwater management design, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, permitting, BMP retrofits and stream restoration.A strong background using Auto CAD and/or Microstation is requiredKnowledge of HEC-RAS and ArcGIS is preferredDirect experience completing projects with Maryland State Highway and other public sector/municipal agencies in the Greater Baltimore/DC Metro area is requiredExperience in watershed water quality assessments, MS4 permitting and/or program development a plusStrong interpersonal skills; good public speaking ability; strong project financial management skills; knowledge of production support systems and personal computer proficiency are all required competencies.Desire to provide technical and project leadership to junior engineersProfessional Engineer license in MD preferred
