Freese and Nichols, Inc. (FNI) is currently searching for a highly-motivated, experienced Senior Stormwater Engineer to join our Central Texas Stormwater Group preferably in Austin, Texas, but open to San Antonio, San Marcos, and Corpus Christi offices as well. As a senior leader in the group, this role will help us continue to build our client base in Central Texas, strengthen our full-service stormwater team, and manage engineering work related to stormwater management, ecosystem restoration, and flood mitigation requiring the application of standard and innovative techniques, procedures, and criteria for public sector clients.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage planning and design projects, which may include hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses and mitigation planning projects, stream bank restoration assessment and design, geomorphology studies, and stormwater management assessment and design. Develop and manage scope, schedule, and budget to meet project goals and objectives and lead the project team.Serve as senior advisor for design projects and assist project teams as a technical resource. Provide quality control reviews of technical deliverables.Mentor and train junior staff engineers.Support business development activities including:Fostering and maintaining relationships with Central Texas clientsDevelopment of proposals for stormwater opportunities, including overall leadership of the proposal effort, developing win themes, building teams, developing technical approaches, schedules, and budgets resulting in booking of new work.Interaction and a commitment to client service for both internal and external clients, including client development planning, client representative duties, and achieving assigned bookings goalsAbility to work independently as well as plan and supervise work of teams of professionals and techniciansEffective communication skills, demonstrated management and sales capabilitiesThe position requires travel primarily within Central Texas with occasional travel to other regions in Texas or out-of-state to support business development and/ or projects.Qualifications15+ years’ experience with emphasis in project management, personnel management, and technical design of stormwater projectsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.Preferred:
