Description
We are seeking self-starter Civil Engineering candidates for our Fort Collins office with good communication, organizational and writing skills, and a strong passion for working with people on multi-disciplinary projects.
The primary responsibilities of the position include supporting the design and analysis of civil water related projects for federal, state and local municipalities. This position will require production of design calculations, technical reports to support design projects, and preparation of construction documents. Primary responsibilities include:
Creating detailed designs of water distribution, sewer collection, stormwater systems, and site civil improvements under instruction from the Project Manager and Project Engineer.Preparing plans/construction drawings for water related and site civil improvements through coordination with CAD staff and within AutoCAD software.Development of technical specifications based on HDR master specifications and client specifications.Preparation of water related design reports with supporting mapping and calculations.Perform construction phase tasks including administration, construction observation and supporting office engineering activities.Coordination with other team members and project manager.#LI-LA1
Required Qualifications
A solid foundation in various branches of water related civil engineering, development of construction drawings, and strong technical writing and organizational skills are essential requirements for this position. Specific required qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree inCivil or Environmental Engineering.EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progressionExperienced with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling softwareSelf-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of taskAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred Qualifications
An internship or 1 years of experience in civil and water related designs.Experience using AutoCAD for mapping, design tasks, and drawing preparation.Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis tools, modeling software with an interest in water, sewer and stormwater modeling.Experience with ArcGIS software with use in mapping and basic data analysis in support of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.Experience in preparing subsurface utility engineering reports, construction stormwater management and erosion control plans and reportsWhy HDR
