Strategic Business Analytics and Insights VP - WM, IM and U.S. Banks, First Line Financial Crimes Risk Office

The WM, IM, and U.S. Banks First Line Financial Crimes Risk Team (1L FCR) is embedded within the Firm’s business line. It is responsible for identifying, assessing, and escalating potential money laundering and reputational risk issues associated with higher risk client types. This team is considered the first line of defense and supports the onboarding, enhanced due diligence, and negative news processes for Morgan Stanley.

The team is seeking an experienced candidate to provide end-to-end business management support through the production and analysis of financial and headcount analytics for the Wealth Management Financial Crimes Risk COO team. You will be working in a dynamic and data-driven environment focused on high quality detailed operational reporting to senior stakeholders on the management of the 1L FCR team. The role will drive efficiencies within the 1L FCR COO Team, with a key focus to continuously process reengineer reporting practices to support the organization’s mission and progress against key initiatives.

· Driving executive-level content, analysis, and presentation material for a broad audience inclusive of senior management, regulators, and WM field staff.

· Executing and solving business problems through complex analysis of workforce related data.

· Understanding the teams operating model and translating that into actionable insights using data to support management and regulatory stakeholders.

Because of the broad nature of the role, candidates must have:

· A proven track record of supporting and working with executive level leadership, as well as with multiple functions within an organization.

· The ability to manage multiple deadlines and initiatives simultaneously, often under tight deadlines, while maintaining high standards and a critical attention to detail.

· A passion for communication and strategic story telling through data.

Required Skills:

· At least 7 years of experience the Financial Services industry in a data intensive position.

· Very strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills.

· Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint for data analysis related tasks. VBA / Excel Macros / Advance-Excel a must.

· Experience visualizing data for reporting and end user analysis.

· Data Visualization Tool: PowerBI, Tableau, QlikSense/QlikView (PowerBi preferred)

· Ability to transform business processes with the agile use of data.

· Strong organizational skills to ensure all reporting and supporting materials are appropriately documented with procedure documents in place for future reference.

· Ability to direct and drive senior stakeholders towards a common goal.

· Confidence and comfort operating in high-paced and high-profile environments.

· Demonstrable track record of handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately

· Ability to research and resolve issues independently while working across teams to acquire information.

· Highly motivated, self-starter that can work autonomously and can independently take initiative.

· Senior understanding of enterprise organizational and behavioral dynamics.

· Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborating across large organizations.

· Experience in supporting audit and regulatory inquiries and interactions with Board, senior management.

· Bachelor’s degree required.
