Special Projects

As assigned by the Director or Planning & Performance Manager, manage special projects for the department, utilizing data, information, research, and analysis to inform the recommended actions.Collaborate with the colleagues on special projects that impact customers and the public, including but not limited to Planners and the Marketing & Communications Professional.

Process Improvement

Use data and information to drive process improvement within the department.May also collaborate with other departments on organizational process improvement initiatives.

Strategic and Business Planning

Lead strategic planning for the department, including developing departmental actions, goals, objectives, and performance measures.Coordinate performance measurement and management by collaborating with others in the department to establish performance measures, Key Performance Indicators, and targets.Track performance, analyze trends, and strategize on actions to improve.Include best practice and peer research.Ensure monthly updates for performance measures.Produce and write analysis for reports.Participate in the department data team.Coordinate with departmental fiscal staff on the budget process, as well as with strategic staff in other departments and the County’s Strategic Planning Coordinator.

Quality Assurance

Monitor customer service activity such as complaints/compliments tracker, QAlert reports, and communication tools to identify trends or topical areas for improvement.Work with the Marketing & Communications Professional, Breeze customer service representatives, and County Contact Center to ensure a high level of customer service.Assist Grants management staff in ensuring compliance with Federal and State requirements, including reporting and auditing.Assist contract manager(s) within the department to ensure that the business processes used contribute to excellent service.

About the Schedule

Work Hours:

Full-Time, 40 hours per week.Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Special events may require evening or weekend hours, but schedule may flex at Director’s discretion.On occasion this position allows employees, who have completed their six (6) month probationary period, to work remotely 1 to 2 days per week.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Planning, Technology, or job-related field -and- Two (2) years of job-related experience.-OR- Six (6) years of professional job-related experience can be substituted at management discretion for the required education.Valid Florida driver's license by date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in transit or transportation industry, or experience in government or public sector.Knowledge of grant requirements.Experience in customer service delivery and Project Management.

Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
