ICF is currently seeking a Strategic Communications Coordinator to work on a national technical assistance project. The purpose of this project is to develop and maintain a national case coordination program which provide child welfare-based recommendations for unaccompanied children in Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) custody, particularly in the areas of safe and timely release, identification of children with special needs and development of corresponding recommendations, and placement recommendations. The Strategic Communications Coordinator will use his/her expertise to manage internal and external communication needs across the project. This includes the development and execution of project communication strategies across multiple audiences.
The successful candidate has experience in communication and dissemination. The Strategic Communications Coordinator will work closely with and under the oversight of the Staffing and Training Manager to execute essential communication strategies through the development and dissemination of high-quality work products. The position supervises the Strategic Communication Administration Support role. The position is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications Coordinator responsibilities include:
In collaboration with the client and project leadership, develop and implement a communication plan that supports internal and external audiences.
Support an array of communications solutions to facilitate outreach, education, and ongoing communication with identified internal and external audiences.
Create messaging, content, and communications tools, ensuring that communications are based on a clear understanding of target audiences’ needs and preferences, use engaging and plain language, are user-friendly and visually appealing, and follow digital and marketing writing best practices.
Work with the client and project leadership to gather input and feedback on content and strategy and revise as necessary.
Disseminate content, leveraging pre-existing messaging, lists and channels where possible, including e-mail contact lists and dissemination software to share invitations to training events and promote access to resources, tools, guidance documents, and e-learnings for staff; virtual meeting platforms and registration sites to facilitate opportunities for engagement, knowledge and skill building, discussion, webinars and feedback for staff; and digital content.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, communications, public relations, or related field which requires an understanding of written communication. 3 years’ experience in a similar role can be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
A minimum 1 year experience developing communication packages, strategies, or plans for an organization or project.
Preferred Skills
Project Management Professional or similar certification
Education and/or experience in the application of race equity, diversity, and inclusion of social justice strategies in human service settings.
Working knowledge of the refugee, immigrant, and asylee challenges.
Experience working for a refugee program.
Supervisory experience.

Proficient with MS office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Experience with training, curriculum development, and facilitation.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$63,511.00 - $107,968.00Nationwide Remote Office (US99)
