What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a Strategic Communications Consultant to join our Defense and Security Segment, where they will play a key role supporting the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) with the development of internal and public-facing strategic communications products for in digital and print format; text, graphics, and graphic layouts for program products; briefings, infographics, and data visualizations for executive, management, and staff-level audiences; digital and print products; and a communications strategy and plan to help prioritize and manage office-level and program-level communications.
Day-to-day tasks include some or all of the following:
Creating strategic communications materials that articulate the client’s mission, vision, roadmap/implementation plans, and other messages to internal and external stakeholders (e.g., TSA, DHS, Airport and Airline stakeholders, OMB, and Congress) and engage national program employee stakeholders and external audiences.
Monitoring, tracking, and prioritizing requests for communications products across multiple programs and stakeholders.
Working with creatives to create tailored communication products on office-level strategic initiatives and specific programs to include briefings, slick sheets, infographics, data visualizations, and updates to existing communication materials.
Creating digital and print documents, to include text and graphics layouts for products such as program fact sheets and the client’s Annual Report.
Plan, coordinate, produce, review, and edit content for client publications.
Supporting the development and sustainment of a marketing and communications strategy for internal and public-facing programs.
Collaborating with staff across the project and work streams to support the client and project team in the development and implementation of communications and related materials that support other program needs.
Assisting other work streams in a broad range of program management, strategy and transformation, process improvement, operating model design, and other advisory support services as time allows beyond strategic communications support needs.
Support multiple, concurrent tasks, while ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to standards, and timely delivery of all products.
What You Will Need:
US Citizenship and the ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a federal or DHS Public Trust
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business or a related field
THREE (3) or more years of experience in consulting, marketing, or other relevant professional experience
TWO (2) or more years of communications and/or public relations experience
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator software applications
Experience with Photoshop software application
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and quick-turn deliverables
Active DHS Public Trust
Direct experience or familiarity with TSA
Ability to take complex concepts, create a clear and concise copy, and adjust messaging according to internal or external stakeholders and audiences
Experience in strategic communications
Working knowledge of Federal Plain Language Guidelines
Familiarity with Federal 508 Accessibility Requirements
Basic to moderate Microsoft SharePoint development and library/knowledge management maintenance skills
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-based work environment
Ability to think critically, strategically, and innovatively
