Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $117,300.00 - $195,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Strategic Data Science Lead will be responsible for driving innovative initiatives and strategic planning for the organization through data-driven approaches and the application of data science methodologies.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities

Data Collection and Preprocessing 

Identify data gaps that need to be closed to support go-to-market strategies Gather customer and market data from various sources Integrate and preprocess data for analysis 

Exploratory Data Analysis 

Conduct competitive landscape analysis to understand industry trends and potential disruptors Assess the organization's internal capabilities, resources, and areas for improvement Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and insights 

Ideation and Feasibility Analysis 

Develop a list of ideas and potential experiments based on data insights Build a business case and quantify the value proposition for each idea Conduct feasibility analysis and experiments to determine what will or won't work 

Model Development and Deployment 

Development of AI/ML Models and Proof of Concepts to support Strategic Initiatives Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build an AI/ML strategy for the organization Leverage technical expertise in AI/ML to advise on potential use cases and implementation 

Strategic Planning and Decision Support 

Perform financial and risk analysis for proposed strategic initiatives Develop scenario plans and contingency strategies to address potential challenges Gather customer and market insights to identify growth opportunities Engage key stakeholders to align on strategic priorities and secure buy-in Create a detailed implementation plan with clear milestones and change management strategies 

Stakeholder Engagement and Initiative Coordination 

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders across the organization Provide regular reports and presentations to update on project progress, findings, and recommendations Coordinate and drive data science initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timely delivery 

Who You Are 

Minimum

3-5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or related fieldsStrong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilitiesExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced environmentSelf-motivated and proactiveFluency in a general programming language, e.g., PythonKnowledge of AI/ML implementation and technical expertiseSoftware development experienceWorking knowledge of solution architectureExperience working with AWS services and toolsExpertise in at least two of the following areas strongly preferred:Statistics: Strong understanding of generalized linear models, time series models, forecasting techniques, cluster analysis, and principal component analysisOperations Research: Strong understanding of linear and mixed-integer optimization, discrete event simulation, heuristic methods, and network flow analysisMachine Learning: The ability to build and implement a variety of common supervised and unsupervised models; expertise in model selection, tuning, implementation, and maintenance; deep knowledge of several standard ML libraries

Consulting background highly preferred Proven project management experience Ability to exhibit executive presence
