Strategic Industry Advisor, Preconstruction

Job Description

We’re looking for a Strategic Industry Advisor, Preconstruction to help shape the future of Procore’s Preconstruction, Supply Chain, and Document solutions.  Successfully building technology for Construction requires detailed knowledge of a highly fragmented industry, meeting the needs of a wide variety of stakeholders, consideration of regulatory and compliance requirements beyond the typical customer understanding, all in support of a workforce that is often working in harsh environments.  This role involves extensive interactions with various stakeholders and therefore requires a combination of intellect, maturity, strength of character, and an ability to earn respect both internally and externally.  You should be prepared to demonstrate your organizational and prioritization skills, analytical and strategic thinking, and your ability to manage ambiguity and build strong relationships at global and local levels.  If you’re excited about improving the lives of everyone in construction— we’d love to hear from you!

This role has the opportunity to meet our customers primarily across the US and Canada. This position will report to the VP of Construction Insights and will be based in our Austin, TX office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

Partner with Product Managers to ensure everything we build is grounded in the truth of construction.  This includes consistency with industry best practices and SOPs, while also recognizing the messy and complex realities of construction.

Develop the roadmap and partner with Product teams to drive execution on jobs-to-be-done experiences

Work closely with Research and Analytics teams by supporting their initiatives with industry experience and voice of the customer data

Partner with Product Design to drive decisions that ensure Procore products are designed for nuanced personas across construction, increasing customer value by delivering a delightful and consistent experience

Represent Product in customer meetings and Industry events

Ensure our solutions comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices across all product offerings

Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the Product and across the entire organization

What we're looking for:

Construction industry professionals with 10+ years of Preconstruction, Supply Chain, and Document Management experience looking to transition into a fast-paced internal advisor role.

A bachelor’s degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of experience, certifications, and trainings

Extreme customer-centricity with a passion for digging deep into the why behind customer problems and bridging those insights to our future solutions

Expert level communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to work with C-level clients as well as stakeholder management of internal executives

Ability to work horizontally across the company from Marketing to Engineering, Sales to CS, and the leadership team. Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships

Ability to leverage critical problem-solving and analytical skills to transform challenging user experience and business and technology problems into actionable paths

Passionate about Procore and the problems we are solving for the construction industry
