Job Description:
We are seeking a strong strategic thinker, with analytical expertise, who is eager to work on a team committed to solving health care’s most pressing challenges. As part of Intermountain Health’s Strategy Office, the Strategic Intelligence Consultant will provide consultative support – with a focus on applying complex modeling and analysis – to provide strategic insights and intelligence Enterprise leaders. The Strategic Intelligence Consultant will be an essential member of Intermountain’s Strategy Office, supporting the development of insightful, data-driven recommendations to guide Enterprise strategy. In this role, the Strategic Intelligence Consultant will focus on acquiring and analyzing information critical to effective strategic decision-making. Potential areas of involvement include market opportunity assessments, profitability assessments, and growth opportunity assessments. Projects will span business units, geographies, and service lines, and will be highly visible to key leaders across the Enterprise.We will be hiring at multiple levels for this role based on the qualifications of the candidate pool.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in strategic engagements to further Intermountain’s position as a leading health systemDevelop dynamic models using complex and, at times, amorphous information to inform strategic development and implementationTransform data into actionable insights to inform Intermountain strategyLead the development of initiatives to evaluate the fiscal, operational, and strategic viability of projectsAssess existing and new markets; lead analysis and strategic planningDevelop and evaluate capital, partnership, expansion, and other growth proposalsCoordinate with stakeholders and leaders across the EnterpriseTranslate customer needs into dynamic models for decision-makingAct as a sounding board for the Strategy Office for data and information validationEnsure the quality of deliverables and the accuracy of data and analysesDevelop and deliver communications in a visually compelling mannerDistill complex concepts into actionable insights for executivesIdentify, design, and implement sustainable solutions to Enterprise challengesExhibit a high-level of maturity and professionalism in all interactionsBe able to communicate effectively with audiences at all levels of the EnterpriseBe a thought leader and culture carrier throughout the EnterpriseCandidates have historically joined the Strategy Office from a wide variety of backgrounds, and we encourage all who meet the qualifications to apply. Many candidates have joined after excelling in strategy, analytics, operations, or clinical roles within health care organizations, strategy roles outside of the healthcare industry, or directly from top MBA or MHA programs.
Minimum Requirements
Master's Degree and three years of analytics or consulting experience or Bachelor's Degree with five years of analytics or consulting experienceDemonstrated success in the development, analysis, and interpretation of data and development of complex financial modelsStrong quantitative skills and the ability to analyze and interpret financial dataExceptional analytical and conceptual problem-solving skillsProven ability to work in a fast-paced, analytical, and demanding work environmentA track record of successfully integrating into high-performing, interdisciplinary teamsDemonstrated ability to thrive in high-impact, demanding, and ambiguous work environmentsExceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environmentAbility to articulate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writingDemonstrated passion for continuous improvementPreferred Qualifications
Degree in an analytics related field such as statistics, mathematics, information systems, computer science, finance, economics, or an MBA with an emphasis in analyticsExposure to value-based care financing and flow of fundsBackground in consulting or analytics, with a focus on catering messages to executive audiencesAbility to use various programs or tools to gather data needed for analysis and modelingGeneral experience in health care or subject matter expertise in the job area (such as Actuarial, Clinical Programs, Clinical Services, Compliance, Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Management Engineering, Quality, Revenue Cycle, Select Health / Insurance, Strategic Planning, Costing, Chargemaster, Budgeting, etc.)Physical Requirements:
