Job Description

Allied Universal® Technology Services, an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring a Strategic IT Engineering Manager. The Strategic IT Engineering Manager will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of engineering projects for physical security systems. They will ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and goals while managing permitting, construction, and final acceptance. This role requires expertise in engineering and project management to deliver secure, efficient, and high-quality solutions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

Leadership and Team Management

Provide expert guidance and mentorship to a team specializing in operating systems, networking, and security solutionsEffectively manage project deliverables while fostering a supportive environment for team growth and successPromote a collaborative atmosphere within the team and across departments to achieve shared objectivesEncourage and support the ongoing professional development of team members through coaching and training opportunities

Technical Expertise and Project Delivery

Plan, manage, and deliver technology platform in support of overall customer projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standardsEvaluate technical requirements and design or refine the technology platform to meet customer needsExecute technology platform implementations and meticulously document configurations for future referenceDevelop clear and concise installation and configuration guides to support customer deploymentsResolve complex technical issues or guide others in troubleshooting hardware and software systemsCollaborate with the installation team to ensure smooth and successful customer deployments

Communication and Client Focus

Maintain open and proactive communication channels with both the team and customersClearly set and manage expectations to ensure alignment and customer satisfactionDemonstrate a commitment to meeting the needs of both the organization and its customers

QUALIFICATIONS (Must Have):  

Must possess one or more of the following:Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer information technology, engineering, computer science or related major with a minimum of three (3) years of IT experience Associate’s degree in information systems, computer information technology, engineering, computer science or related major with a minimum of five (5) years of IT experience High school or equivalent with a minimum of seven (7) years of IT experience Current driver’s license if driving a company vehicle or personal vehicle in the course of conducting business (e.g., client visits, attending networking events) Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in IT engineering or IT project management positionAbility to lead and motivate a small team of technical professionalsIn-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, including installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshootingSolid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls) and experience with network configuration and troubleshooting in a Windows environmentFamiliarity with security best practices, common threats, and mitigation techniques. Experience with security hardening of Windows systems and basic incident responseAbility to automate tasks and manage Windows systems using PowerShell scriptingExperience with monitoring tools like PRTG to monitor the health and performance of physical security systemsFamiliarity with network inventory tools like Total Network Inventory to track and manage hardware and software assetsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issuesAbility to create clear and concise technical documentation, including installation guides, configuration documents, and troubleshooting proceduresExperience with managing IT projects, including planning, execution, and monitoringExceptional interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills to document and report important information with all levels of the organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Nice to Have):

Windows Server operative systems such as Active Directory, Group Policy, networking, and security featuresComp TIA, A+, Network+, Security+ or similar certificationsExperience with Microsoft Certified group
