STRATEGIC PLANNER
Senior Strategic Analyst shall identify and research emerging WMD and adversary threat trends to support advice and develop recommendations for Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Department of Defense (DoD), and the CWMD Community for mitigation and elimination of the anticipated threat. The Senior Strategic Analyst will assist in analysis of future global, regional, and country-specific topics related to the research, development, and use of weapons of mass destruction and well as emerging science and technology that will impact and shape CBRN development and use. This analysis will focus on the future 5-10 year window to afford decision space and resource allocation to anticipated future WMD threats. As part of this effort, Senior Strategic Analyst will research, analyze, and present data on topics relevant to the Agency, DoD, and the CWMD community. Products include single and multi-author papers, presentations, and responses to direct inquiries from leadership. Contractor provides expert advice on analytical topics to be analyzed or explored through other means, such as hosting of discussions (events) or sponsorship of research by external partners. Senior Strategic Analyst will: Analyze potential impacts of trends and emerging technology. Report analysis, insights, findings, and recommendation to leadership at least on a quarterly basis, as part of larger trends analysis team. Review and translate national guidance into operationally relevant products. Support development of timely, concise occasional papers on special topics. Experience: 7-10 years of experience providing strategic level analytic support in CWMD mission space. Ideal candidate will have experience providing complex analytical studies and activities; researching topics, providing analysis, and delivering written and oral presentations on findings/insights; making recommendations on relevant, credible, and timely actions that can be taken considering the findings; providing analytic and operational expertise; providing written inputs to study plans analysis reports. In-depth understanding of U.S. Government and international partner efforts to counter and deter WMD and emerging threats. Analytical, technical, and administrative support expertise related to CWMD/CBRNE/Consequence Management and/or other DoD-related missions and activities. Knowledge of DoD Strategic Guidance and associated documents. Ability to coordinate and reach consensus with other organizations and directorates. Knowledgeable of Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) and DTRA programs and planning to more effectively synchronize DTRA’s CWMD mission. Education: BS required, but MS/PhD preferred. Experience with DTRA’s CWMD mission space is preferred. Experience in a Joint Organization preferred. Knowledge of CWMD policies. **TS/SCI Required,** Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a diverse teaming environment, ability to lead workgroups or projects, ability to work independently on complex research or analysis projects.
