The Strategic Planning Specialist is responsible for supporting an array of high priority initiatives to advance the strategic priorities of Hartford HealthCare (HHC). The planning specialist reports to the Manager of Strategic Planning and supports senior and executive leadership in driving strategic initiatives throughout the health system. The right candidate will have a strong analytical background, as well as a proven ability to compile and interpret data and succinctly present findings to project sponsors and stakeholders. The specialist will participate in a wide range of responsibilities, including proforma development, business development planning, marketplace activity reports, industry trends, national health system survey completion, and other ad hoc requests. Position Responsibilities: · Develop methodologies to produce market activity reports and perform analysis and interpretation of data to support acute care hospital and service line decision-making. This role will provide critical analytical support for executive leadership meetings including business unit reviews and integrated, strategic, operation and financial reviews. · Supports the Manager of Strategic Planning and Regional/Institute Planning Directors with the creation of proformas and business plans with a high degree of accuracy throughout the project lifecycle. · Develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of appropriate applications such as Excel, Qlikview, Tableau, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Maptitude, and other software to assist with dashboard management, routine and ad hoc report development · Perform comparative financial analysis of health systems and potential partners, as well as analysis to inform of the impact of potential alignment scenarios in the market. Develop data-rich maps to visualize community health needs as well as the health care landscape. · Support the compilation and submission of media, industry, and regulatory surveys on behalf of HHC. Oversee regional responses to surveys to ensure coordinated efforts. Compile system-wide statistics for use in the annual State of the System report, as well as for other ad hoc requests. Reports To: Manager, Strategic Planning Nature of Supervision: Oversee Specialist’s projects, assist with training on all the databases, and mentor analyst to feel a strong connection to the Strategy Team. Qualifications Education: · Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, business administration, or another related field · Master’s degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, business administration, or another related field preferred, but not required Experience: · Minimum of 3 years progressive experience required in a hospital or healthcare system setting · Experience with SharePoint, CHIME, QlikView, Maptitude, and/or Crimson Market Advantage preferred, but not required · Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Access, Teams and PowerPoint.
