Job Summary: 

The Strategic Relationship Management Principal Director will concentrate on strengthening and expanding relationships with key RIA and institutional clients. The role aims to support clients in growing their businesses and enhancing relationship success through a strategic sales approach. You will collaborate with your designated clients to gain a thorough understanding of their strategic needs and challenges, offering actionable solutions, sharing best practices, and guiding them in leveraging available resources to fully optimize Envestnet’s ecosystem.

Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate with internal teams to grow platform assets, broaden the product offering, and strategically promote additional services to meet sales targets.  This includes cultivating deep partnerships with the RIA Sales Team, Business Development Directors and respective marketing initiatives and associates.
Clearly communicate Envestnet’s corporate vision to client firms.
Become a voice for the client, ensuring that the broader Envestnet enterprise has insights into the needs of clients in the RIA space.
Gain a deep understanding of the client’s business and growth strategies. Develop insights into their business model to support the achievement of annual goals and initiatives, including tracking quarterly metrics and updating strategic plans and profiles. Create and maintain both short- and long-term client strategies, ensuring alignment between Envestnet’s objectives and the client’s strategic goals and capacities
Maintain a deep understanding of the advisory business and market trends shaping the financial services industry, with a strong focus on RIA M&A activities.
Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with senior executives at client organizations.
Facilitate 8 to 12 client meetings each quarter, including leadership discussions, due diligence sessions, and quarterly business reviews. Ensure meetings are focused on actionable outcomes with clear objectives and measurable results. This also involves coordinating with subject matter experts to organize client working sessions on topics such as market outlooks, industry trends, business updates, and product/solution presentations.
Use Salesforce to build collaborative relationship information, manage internal communications, log meetings, maintain an active opportunity pipeline, and build go-to-market plans.
Collaborate with internal legal and executive teams to manage contract renewals and pricing.
Coordinate all client conference activities including negotiate conference fees, all preconference outreach, all post conference summaries, etc.
Travel: 50% - 75% Required.
Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested. 
As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.

Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree
At least 15 years of experience in the financial services industry
A minimum of 15 years in relationship management and strategic sales
Experience working with independent RIAs, including effective engagement with RIA C-suite executives
Proven ability to build and manage relationships with complex clients and proactively address potential issues
Proven success in client and prospect interactions, with experience in financial business analysis or consulting
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, presentation, and listening skills, with the ability to take a consultative approach when working with clients
Strong multitasking, project management, presentation, and organizational abilities
Familiarity with Envestnet’s wealth technology platforms is a plus
