Strategic Sector Lead

Position Summary:

Responsible and accountable to establish and maintain key employer stakeholder and infrastructure relationships, within our catchment areas or sector specific engagement approaches. Develop and implement a strategic plan to build relationships with key industry partners to identify current and future labour market needs and liaise with other Fedcap departments to connect these opportunities with jobseekers through the employment Service Provider network. Act as a labour market and emerging industry expert, identifying and developing pathways to skills training and pre-employment opportunities that prepare jobseekers for available jobs. Establish Fedcap’s reputation as a Service System Manager who is focused on creating outcomes through an attractive and compelling employer offering that provides as many work focused opportunities for our jobseekers as possible. Provide additional Employer Services leadership across our Service Provider network to support the development of an employer-led culture.

Essential Responsibilities:

Establish relationships within our catchment areas with key stakeholders, partners and referral agencies to integrate Fedcap as a key partner in creating economic wellbeing and providing a pipeline to labour market needs  Create sector-focused employer engagement and develop sector-focused solutions Establish key relationships with several accounts by leading on strategic employer and stakeholder engagement across our catchment area for priority sectors Maintain, coordinate, and develop effective relationships at corporate levels within our key employer partnerships Develop a compelling, attractive, tailored offer to an employer that meets their recruitment needs, increases opportunities for our job seekers, and promotes our brand as a SSM of choice  Provide operations with relevant data and information to highlight employer needs, trends, and labour market analysis to be able to make evidence-based decisions  Monitor performance against budgeted key performance indicators (KPIs), working with the Service Providers to support targets, and to ensure our employer offer is consistent across sectors  Drive growth of our business through proactive relationship building, the development of employer partnerships and opportunities to provide commercial services to employers Lead on the implementation, embedding and on-going refinement of our service offering in line with our province’s economic and labour market requirements with the support of key stakeholders Manage strategic relationships across our catchment areas, with a range of stakeholders and employers related to economic development activity Support the development of capacity and capability in the Service Provider network by providing expert Key Stakeholder and Employer Services leadership, and facilitating the sharing of best practices Work closely and collaboratively with other members of the Employer Engagement team.

 

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification or experience in Business Management, Project Management including strategic development and growth methodologies 5 years+ experience in Business Development or Sales  Experience in Employment Services is desirable Knowledge of conducting Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and Organizational Needs Analysis (ONA) and translating employers needs into the development and delivery of fit for purpose programs and services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Geographical and subject specific stakeholder relationship development experience in the Employment Services or the training and development markets Strong experience of positioning an organization’s strategic and value driven approach with key stakeholders in both the public and private sector to build and maintain relationships Extensive knowledge of the province’s labour market and of working with business leaders to make the necessary links to develop the employer offer  Understanding of employer’s needs, experience of training needs analysis and organizational needs analysis, translating these in to fit for purpose programs and services  Extensive market research and business development experience Experience of leading a sales or business development team approach in a target driven environment Knowledge of legislative recruitment regulations in Ontario.
