Strategic Sourcing Data Analyst Intern (Spring 2025)

Responsibilities Engage in sourcing-based activities with suppliers under direction from the Sourcing team by negotiating price, quantity and delivery of material. This may include expediting or deferring goods and services with suppliers to meet unforeseen changes in demand. Perform RFQs for new and existing material to ensure the best cost, quality, and delivery for MSA. Assisting Sourcing on development of sourcing strategies and a project pipeline which outlines sourcing projects planned for the year as well as results of those sourcing projects. Undertake sourcing projects that result in cost reductions for MSA as well as any other assigned cost reduction projects. Analyze material data in order to drive consolidation of spend by commodities / suppliers and have the best mix of suppliers that will provide MSA with the leverage of volume. Create and maintain SAP Master Data under direction from the Sourcing team. This includes reviewing and approving new vendor master records, researching, bidding and costing new material master records, creating and updating purchase info records, and updating source lists. Participate in periodic standard cost roll procedure to update material costs under direction from the Sourcing team. Participating on New Product Development (NPD) Teams to provide input regarding the procurement of product and stocking of material to support on-time prototype builds and product launches. Effectively representing functional area on cross-functional teams. Qualifications Special knowledge, skills and abilities required: Clear written and verbal communication Ability to manage multiple tasks with organizational and analytical skills Interpersonal relationship skills Proficient use of Excel and Word Education and experience required: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management and have completed at least one semester of Sophomore year. Experience using Power BI Preferred: Experience using SAP, Access and PowerPoint This role is a hybrid role, and will require 1-2 days in office in Murrysville per week.
