Strategic Sourcing Intern

**Description**
Strategic Sourcing Interns will work on a project to support Strategic Sourcing Continuous Improvement Projects. Interns will prioritize projects based on ROI, and tackle the initiatives that will drive the most efficiencies and effectiveness. They will work with buyers in the Strategic Sourcing Organization and cross-functionally with Supply Chain Compliance, Procurement Support, Accounts Payable, and Supply Chain Risk to implement process improvements identified. This position will be largely focused on “procurement” areas within the supply chain.
Interns will also job shadow and work with Leidos buyers to observe the following:
+ The development and negotiation of favorable prices, terms, schedules and other provisions of purchase orders and acquisition contracts, ensuring consistency with client requirements and procurement policies/procedures with minimal guidance.
+ Purchase order administration/file maintenance, closeout for all procurement related activities and supplier customer management.
+ Creating complex solicitations, supporting proposals, conducting moderate complexity price and cost analysis, negotiating price/cost and price/cost-related terms and other subcontract provisions.
+ Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
+ Reviews proposals, and selects or recommends suppliers based on gathered information.
+ May also recommend improvements to procurement processes and procedures.
+ Completes larger procurements with moderate manager oversight.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Support Leidos’ Procurement of the Future project.
Basic Qualifications
+ Requires limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and concepts.
+ Utilizes limited knowledge of industry practices and standards.
+ Currently enrolled in a College degree in business or related field, supply chain or industrial engineering, is strongly encouraged.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Expected graduation in bachelor degree in business or related field.

**Pay Range:**
Pay Range $39,000.00 - $70,500.00
