The Global Weigh & Wrap Division manufactures commercial weighing and wrapping equipment and software solutions for the Grocery/Retail and Food Service industries worldwide. Our industry-leading solutions are branded Avery Berkel and Hobart in their respective global markets. 

Job Description

The Strategic Sourcing Manager for the Global Weigh & Wrap Division (an ITW company) is a critical position within the business, collaborating with all members of the Global Weigh & Wrap Team to meet and exceed growth and profitability goals of the division.  Primary responsibilities include strategic sourcing, supply chain management, and supplier accountability. The role will be responsible for approximately $40 million of global spending, mainly for the electrical/electronic component category.   This position reports to the VPGM of Global Weigh & Wrap and serves as a member of the management team providing a supply chain vision, business partnership, and collaboration with ITW to achieve strategic leverage and economy of scale. The role will support manufacturing operations and new product development based in Troy and Hillsboro, Ohio, USA, and Birmingham, United Kingdom. This role will have direct reports. 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Lead Strategic Sourcing for the Global Weigh & Wrap Division and represent the Division as part of ITW Food Equipment Sourcing Team. Develop and deliver annual savings programs for direct and indirect spend categories at the business unit level.Ensure supply chain strategy, practices, sourcing savings, and initiatives are aligned with the Division’s goals and support the Division’s growth and profitability strategy.Identify, develop, and execute global sourcing initiatives and category strategies that leverage purchasing scale, manage supply chain risk, and enhance profitability. Manage and negotiate supplier selection, qualification relationships and contracting to ensure supplier quality, continuity, delivery, technology, and commercial requirements. Develop and implement strategies that harness economies of scale, drive economic value, and enable business growth by leveraging Global Weigh & Wrap and ITW globally. Lead complex and critical negotiations utilizing extensive professional knowledge and experience of principles and techniques of negotiation. Assess contractual performance of major suppliers, initiate supplier improvement programs, manage and negotiate variations within and outside scope of contracts, and enforce contract remedies. Keep updated on market indexes and trends, analyze supplier cost structure and market analysis to minimize cost impact and mitigate supply risk.Work closely with New Product Development group implementing advanced sourcing techniques when bringing new products to market.Travel to suppliers and other ITW and Global Weigh & Wrap locations, as necessary. Other required duties as assigned.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Technical, or Engineering. Advanced technical and/ or business-related degree (MBA) preferred.The preferred candidate will have over 5 years’ experience and be able to actively demonstrate, share examples, and have in-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing, supply chain operations, and capital equipment manufacturing in a global environment. In addition, the preferred candidate has management experience in talent development and management of their team to deliver results.Strong record of driving strategic sourcing initiatives to support the business strategy and developing category strategies.Deep experience in effective negotiations, procurement, contract law, material requirements planning, risk management and Lean manufacturing techniques and presentations.Experience with Kanban, vendor managed inventory, and pull systems, within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Experience with ERP systems and strong data analytics skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to engage and drive a diverse team of employees. Ability to build and leverage relationships and networks across the organization.Experience of implementing Sourcing techniques in a New Product Development environment. Expert negotiator.Exceptionally self-motivated and directed. Additional InformationMust have a desire to travel, both domestically and internationally, as required. Expect 30% travel.Office based role
