How You’ll Make an Impact as a Strategic Sourcing Manager

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, the Strategic Sourcing Manager will assess, develop, and execute best practice sourcing strategies and initiatives for ManpowerGroup North American and Global Executive business owners.  Additionally, this position will be the strategic sourcing category leader and work with functional team leaders to plan, implement, and communicate supply strategy supplier management programs and drive cost savings risk mitigation.

The position is highly complex and often requires the establishment of work procedures and approaches.  The most challenging level - demands critical assessment, evaluation, and interpretation in the adaptation of experience, expertise, and independent judgment in crucial decision-making.  This role requires advanced technical expertise and/or best practice functional knowledge, accomplishments, and expertise.

Making an Impact:

Stakeholders Management:

· Create and implement supplier relationship programs and internal business.

relationship building that leads to increased productivity managed to spend on a domestic, international, and global basis This role includes building and maintaining solid relationships between Manpower home office, Experis, Solutions, and Right Management (Finance, Legal, Risk Management, IT, HR), domestic and global business leadership.

· Promotes and maintain ethical relationships with all internal stakeholders, and customers.

· Ability to read internal business partners and respond with an appropriate level of support; (i.e., when to lead and when to follow)

Category Management:

· Manage category contract portfolios to ensure that commercial obligations are met, and the process of renewal or replacement of existing agreements are proactively managed.  

· Demonstrate Indirect and Direct Spend expertise. 

· Develop and manage Category Strategies and identify and deploy suitable strategies as RFPs among other methods applicable to the category that meet the business requirement.

· Deploy price/cost analysis, and pricing strategies.

Analytics:

· Provides rigorous analysis of spending data, market information, and industry benchmarks.

· Draws upon strategic sourcing performance metrics to focus and channel resources towards the highest impacting initiatives while still providing advisement and consultation on lower risk and impact requests.

· Proficient at data mining, organizing, and analyzing spent data to find new opportunities for strategic sourcing initiatives.

Contract Management:

· Lead multiyear multimillion agreements negotiations.

· Coordinates contract execution as the liaison with legal, risk management, IT marketing, Data Security, Data Privacy, and finance to ensure favorable commercial terms, risk mitigation, and robust ongoing SLAs and KPI metrics are incorporated in the contracts.

· Leverages the substantial stakeholders' relationships to increase the spend under strategic sourcing management.

· Solid business acumen to assess the overall benefits and risks of a contract/purchase.

Project Management:

· Deploys high-quality project management best practices are utilized to ensure that projects and sourcing projects are well managed and communicated.

· Emphasizes follow-up, follow-thru, taking ownership of projects, taking and driving accountability.

Negotiation:

· Strong negotiation skills. Ability to multi-task, shift priority level, and perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and time-sensitive environment.

· Able to negotiate skillfully in challenging situations under conflicting internal and external interests.

· Wins concessions without damaging relationships.

Sharing Expertise:

Supplier Relationship Management:

· Develops suppliers in partnership with business owners.

· Demonstrates expertise in keeping critical suppliers happy over an extended relationship, yielding the best possible prices and value add for their organization.

· Manages supplier performance towards continuous improvement and keeps good relationships that increase good deals and quality while decreasing supply chain risk.

· Creating and implementing supplier relationship programs and internal business relationship building that leads to increased productivity managed to spend on a domestic, international, and global basis.

· Recommends and enlists support for sourcing strategies for critical products and services and lead identification and development of long term (local and global) sources.

· Evaluates suppliers based on qualitative and quantitative data gathered regarding performance, quality, competitive pricing, and SLA metrics.  Holds supplier meetings to review scorecard data and contract compliance.

· Promotes and maintain ethical relationships with external suppliers and customers.

· Supports the implementation of the ongoing Supplier Diversity Program
