Strategic Sourcing Manager
Job Summary: Leads the sourcing management process by managing the sourcing strategy definition within teams. Supports the strategic procurement of products and services by empowering others to perform data gathering and analysis. Evaluates high-profile strategic options and participates in the creation of a sourcing strategy. Manages the implementation of the sourcing strategy within teams through the selection, negotiation, and recommendation of awards for sourcing contracts. Supports the continuous improvement of sourcing processes by planning and implementing solutions. Essential Responsibilities: + Provides developmental opportunities for others; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships. Solicits and acts on performance feedback; works closely with employees to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement. Delegates tasks and decisions as appropriate; provides appropriate support, guidance, and scope; encourages development and consideration of options in decision making. + Manages designated work unit or team by translating business plans into tactical action items; oversees the completion of work assignments and identifies opportunities for improvement; ensures all policies and procedures are followed. Aligns team efforts; builds accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; determines and ensures processes and methodologies are implemented; resolves escalated issues as appropriate; sets standards and measures progress. Fosters the development of work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; obtains and distributes resources. Removes obstacles that impact performance; identifies and addresses improvement opportunities; guides performance and develops contingency plans accordingly; influences teams to execute in alignment with operational objectives. + Supports the continuous improvement of sourcing processes by: planning for the effective implementation of continuous improvements to support value optimization of awarded contracts; implementing solutions within teams to maintain supplier compliance for complex and long-term contract terms, including product/service quality, payment terms, and shipping requirements; and managing the fulfillment of complex and long-term stakeholder needs to foster stakeholder partnerships. + Supports the strategic procurement of goods and services by: empowering others to monitor the internal and external environment for trends and practices that can inform complex and long-term strategic opportunities; and driving complex market and sourcing analyses to optimize sourcing strategy, supplier selection, and procurement implementation, and guiding others on the team to do the same. + Contributes to the sourcing strategy definition by: developing and overseeing the development of complex and long-term category profiles, savings plans, targets, and forecasts, within teams; and managing complex and long-term sourcing, communication, and governance processes, within teams. + Contributes to the creation of the sourcing strategy by: driving the evaluation of options and products/services and influencing the development of complex and long-term sourcing plans; influencing key stakeholder relationships to drive and socialize category sourcing strategies/plans; and integrating complex results of strategic analyses to develop sourcing strategies within teams. + Contributes to the implementation of sourcing strategy by: managing the development of requests for proposals and complex bidding documents, within teams, to generate options; evaluating high profile proposal analyses within teams and integrating results to inform supplier selection; negotiating and providing guidance within teams to negotiate complex and long-term pricing and contract terms (e.g., delivery, quality, performance) with suppliers for products and services to ensure KP receives the best value for dollars spent; managing contract drafting processes within teams to ensure key business terms and relevant language are included; reviewing and determining contract awards within teams and influencing key stakeholders to approve recommendations; and planning for the effective implementation of sourcing strategies, within teams. Minimum Qualifications: + Minimum one (1) year of experience managing operational or project budgets. + Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports. + Minimum two (2) years of experience in healthcare or another heavily regulated industry (e.g., Banking). + Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Material Management, Economics, or related field AND Minimum six (6) years of experience in purchasing, contracting, material management, finance or directly related field, OR Minimum nine (9) years of experience in purchasing, contracting, material management, finance or a directly related field.
