Position Overview:

Our Rail Infrastructure group is adding to our team and seeking to hire a Strategic Sourcing Manager to drive the development and implementation of an effective Direct Materials procurement strategy. You will develop, implement and measure a Supply Strategies that fully meets the supply chain needs of our Business (i.e., commodity strategies, supply base development, supplier management, price management, and predictive procurement).

What your day-to-day will look like:

Lead and develop a team of sourcing professionals, ensuring that business goals priorities are met.Work to establish and communicate predictive procurement strategies based on commodity forecasts, other market intelligence reports and supplier intel.Teach and mentor team to analyze market conditions and implement supply chain strategies to assure supply and price competitivenessMaximize our purchasing leverage across Siemens Mobility and Siemens AG for the best total cost of ownership. Aggressively negotiate the absolute best pricing, terms, and conditions. Develop the supply base to exceed the goals and objectives of Siemens Mobility Rail Infrastructure and the supply chain management team.Effectively work with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for sourcing. Understand the trade-offs between cost, volume, and quality to strike agreements that meet performance criteria and secure supply continuity.Establish Plans to mitigate and prevent risks within the supply chain to ensure supply continuityEstablish programs and expectations with suppliers to continually improve and lower total costsTo thrive in this role, you have:

To thrive in this role, you have:

10+ years of Supply Chain Management/Commodity Management with a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or other relevant subject areasExperience working with a global company leading teams negotiating contractsContract management and negotiations (Purchase Agreement, Inventory management initiatives, etc.)Basic finance (understand and evaluate a Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow statement) Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and customers (internal and external)Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to develop effective relationships with Business Management to ensure that Supply Chain Management is fully aligned with business priorities and new business opportunities.

Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.  Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html.  The base salary range for this position in Louisville, KY or Pittsburgh, PA is $140,000 – $160,000 The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications. The annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary
