Strategic Sourcing Specialist
Job Title: Strategic Sourcing SpecialistJob Description This role is responsible for leading bid events, RFPs, and RFIs in the capital category of construction services. The individual will collect information to commercially prequalify contractors, conduct bids, summarize, and participate in award scenarios. Additionally, the role involves understanding project requirements and planning to support these from central or factory engineering. A high degree of interaction with factories, colleagues, and engineering stakeholders is expected. The role focuses on creating value and delivering speed to the market through prequalified and negotiated supply bases via Strategic Sourcing and Category Management. Responsibilities + Conduct RFIs and RFPs in the construction service category and designate suppliers in the supplier portal. + Recognize strategic drivers and activities that support key priorities within the category and across the organization. + Leverage intelligence tools and participate in professional associations to learn best practices and industry trends. + Comply with all procurement and company policies, procedures, and practices, promoting adherence across the organization. + Apply project management principles to drive cross-functional teams in effective and efficient delivery of business objectives. + Lead bidding events for services required in excess of competitive bid thresholds. + Submit RFIs/RFPs requests to ensure timely generation of the events. + Generate proposal comparisons and ensure adherence to contract templates, payment terms, and procurement standards. + Receive and execute against intake forms. + Follow up with project managers through project completion regarding commercial aspects. + Compile and communicate bid summaries. + Work with the team on assigned RFPs and communicate award scenarios. + Compile contract documents as required. + Support sourcing efforts in the area of maintenance, repairs, and operations. + Document and input savings into the cost-saving tool. + Support key procurement KPIs and identify and develop alternate suppliers. Essential Skills + Detail-oriented with a proactive approach and high degree of initiative. + Ability to analyze and present findings clearly and cohesively. + Capable of navigating ambiguous situations and managing relationships. + Strong communication skills for liaising between internal customers and the team. + Ability to work collaboratively and support multiple sourcing initiatives. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. + Experience with SAP, Ariba, and eSourcing tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or equivalent. + Minimum of 2 years of sourcing, supply chain, or technical/manufacturing experience preferred. + Experience in eSourcing processes, negotiations, construction category strategy, and supply agreement development. + Experience with PowerBI and understanding of multiple factory operations is a plus. + Experience with database building, assembling data into metrics, and dashboards. + Contract negotiation experience is a plus. Work Environment This position will be onsite in Downtown St. Louis from Monday to Thursday, with the option to work from home on Fridays. The work environment is pet-friendly, and local candidates are preferred. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.85/hr.
