Title: Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Logistics
Location: Houston, TX (Katy, TX area)

Salary: $112,000 to $145,000
Schedule: Hybrid schedule available of up to 2 days remote per week
Relocation Available 

Focus: The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for sourcing and procuring logistics services to achieve maximum value and best price, while demonstrating compliance with company policies and procedures. This role will be recognized as a strategic partner to both internal and external clients. This role is accountable for managing any number of logistics subcategories on a regional basis, and responsible for performance and spend analysis, in addition to developing, implementing, and executing sourcing and negotiation strategies defined by the leadership for key spend areas to achieve short- and long-term savings targets.  


Strategic Sourcing Specialist Essential Job Functions: Assists and/or leads the development of requests for proposal, issues requests for quotes, and conducts sourcing efforts to include high dollar source selections across multiple logistic modes of transportation Assists and/or leads in contract negotiations, agreement execution, management of change, and agreement implementation Administers current agreements by negotiating change orders, executing contract extensions, resolving administrative issues, and updating SAP as well as managing any contractual related issues Collaborates with strategic partners to develop and implement KPIs, track and manage contract compliance as well as ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, guidelines and safety requirements Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify and leverage contract value opportunities Monitor logistics markets, conducts market intelligence, and utilizes the obtained information to optimize savings Delivers and reports on actual and projected impact savings against the category’s annual objectives Strategic Sourcing Specialist Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree*; Business, Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain or related discipline preferred 5+ years of experience negotiating and managing logistic service contracts 3+ years of rail or trucking or marine industry experience; hazardous materials experience preferred Strong quantitative, cost modeling and data analysis skills with the ability to communicate findings effectively to all levels of the organization SAP experience
