As a research intern in the Tessent Diagnosis team, you will contribute to the development and improvement of Tessent Diagnosis Root Cause Analysis. Nowadays, chips are present everywhere – from big data centers powering Google and ChatGPT, to your car, smartphone, and even your refrigerator! Almost any chip that gets manufactured, gets tested before getting shipped. Chips these days are very complex and comprise of possibly billions of components. When a chip fails during production testing, it is important to find out the location and nature of defect, so that future chips do not have a similar manufacturing defect. In Tessent Diagnosis, we use knowledge of the electrical circuit in the chip to identify multiple locations that can explain the observed defect behavior. We use Machine Learning to further narrow down the list of locations and predict the root causes that might be causing the defects. This mechanism is used extensively by almost all companies designing or manufacturing chips.
Tessent is a market and technology leader of electronic design automation (EDA) software products and on-chip instrumentation for semiconductor design-for-test (DFT), yield analysis, silicon validation, and silicon lifecycle management (SLM).
