Strategy Analyst (Hybrid)

Job Description

The Strategy Analyst will be a key member of the Strategic Planning analytic team, working with health system senior management, clinical leaders, and hospital executives on strategic/programmatic initiatives. In order to succeed in this dynamic environment, you will provide timely, accurate analyses using large data sets with information such as hospital admissions data, physician claims and demographic statistics.  Analyses will focus on providing market intelligence to assist in strategic, program and business decisions.  

Job Responsibility

Extract data from multiple sources using MS Access or SQL.
Manipulate data in Excel/Power BI to understand trends and identify opportunities in the healthcare market.
Highlight key data findings in charts and maps.
Prepare PowerPoint slides/Word documents to summarize findings and write up strategies aimed at growing Northwell and meeting the needs of our communities.
Research best practices and future trends in various clinical specialties and settings.
Assist in program development and space sizing for new ambulatory facilities.
Evaluate strategic impact of health policy initiatives and new regulations.
Assist in preparation of certificate of need (CON) applications to obtain regulatory approval for new programs.
Participate in completing hospital and health system surveys by collaborating with hospitals and health system finance to retrieve information.

Job Qualification

1-3 years of experience, Bachelors degree required, • Master’s degree in a business or healthcare related field preferred but not required Knowledge of healthcare obtained through experience working for a hospital, health system or consulting firm  Solid verbal and written communication skills  Experience with database, spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software  Analytic and critical thinking mindset Ability to multi-task
