Your New Role…

We are currently searching for a Strategy Manager to take up a key role within our Sports Rights team.  In this position you will leverage relationships across our sports business to research the value of our existing sports portfolio and potential new rights, and will provide insightful information to senior leadership to enable business decisions to be made.

This is a fixed term contract with a duration of one year.

Your Role Accountabilities…

Rights Investment Appraisal:

Support sports rights acquisition managers to identify which rights opportunities to pursue, including valuation, market sizing and benchmarking

Work with Finance to build financial business plans for rights acquisitions, leveraging inputs from commercial, production, marketing, research and others

Create presentations summarising event details, contractual terms, production, audience analysis, financials etc for management sign-off of rights spend

Post investment reviews of approved rights acquisitions and actualised performance compared to business plan

Rights Strategy:

Ongoing and ad hoc analysis of performance of existing rights

Support creation of rights strategy presentations or other responses to requests from management, in particular focusing on competitor/macroeconomic landscape, valuation analysis, market sizing/customer research, audience/customer engagement etc

Research & other:

Compile reports & analysis on rights holders, federations, leagues, industry trends etc

Gather research and insights to support broader team

Other support to broader rights team as and when required (e.g. pitch decks, contractual reporting, update presentations etc)

Qualifications & Experience…

Background in the media industry, ideally within sports (or with a consultancy working within those spaces)

Familiarity with corporate strategy and media research

Good understanding of the sports and media industries, including key trends in technology and audiences

Experience of financial or business modelling

Ability to prepare insightful, succinct PP presentations to a high standard

Strong Excel skills

Knowledge of research systems such as Techedge would be advantageous

Fluency in French is desirable but not essential

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
