Stress Analysis Engineer
We are looking for an early career Engineer with a focus on Stress Analysis to join our team in Pittsburgh (Cheswick), PA!
Your Responsibilities:
As a member of our team, you will perform thermal, stress and fracture mechanics analysis to support the design, manufacture, test and field operation of the rotating electro-mechanical equipment manufactured at our power manufacturing facility, EMD. You will also perform strength of materials type calculations on lifting and load bearing tooling that is used in our facility in the manufacture of our products.

Your Challenge:
Analysis of a wide variety of parts in EMD product lines such as pressure vessels, bolted joints, bearings, impellers, rotors and stators
Fracture mechanics analysis, fatigue analysis, and other advanced mechanical analyses of commercial and government nuclear grade rotating equipment as well as commercial process rotating equipment
Component analysis to ASME Code (Section III and Section VIII) and government structural design code requirements
Tooling analysis to Below-the-Hook (BTH-1) structural code requirements
Produce thorough technical documentation in various formats (e.g., presentation slides, letters, reports, etc.) for review and approval by both internal and external customers
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Proficiency in finite element analysis application to stress analysis
Proficiency with hand calculations for stress analysis and machine design
Effective composition, documentation, and presentation skills
Experience with finite element analysis application to thermal analysis is a plus
Licensed Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training is a plus
Must be a sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance
