Job Title: Stress Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stress Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for laying out structural load paths for early conceptual designs to meet high-level requirements. This role involves working in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment with design, fabrication, assembly, and other key functions to execute trade studies and consider various design solutions.

ResponsibilitiesLay out structural load paths for early conceptual designs to meet high-level requirements.Apply first principle approaches with a strong general knowledge of metallics and composite structures.Execute trade studies to consider various design solutions and downselect to the most weight-efficient concepts that meet requirements.Work effectively in an IPT environment with design, fabrication, assembly, and other key functions.Essential SkillsProficiency in CatiaExpertise in stress analysis and structural analysisExperience with finite element analysis (FEA) and FEMAPKnowledge of damage tolerance5+ years of experience in the fieldExperience with Boeing, GFEM, DFEM, and structural loadExperience in mechanical engineering or aerospaceUnderstanding of compositesAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with conceptual design first principles analysis approaches for primary composite structuresKnowledge of various composite structures failure modes and unique analysis methodologies associated with compositesExperience in creating, managing, and running GFEMs (Global Finite Element Models)Experience in creating and executing DFEMs (Detail Finite Element Models)Ability to create simple working FEMs for conceptual design work to validate design principlesWork Environment

This is a long-term contract position of at least 18 months to support commercial programs for an aerospace client onsite. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and candidates must be onsite to perform the work in their facility.
