Stress Engineer
Job Title: Stress EngineerJob Description We are seeking a highly skilled Stress Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for laying out structural load paths for early conceptual designs to meet high-level requirements. The role involves utilizing first principle approaches with a strong knowledge of metallics and composite structures, executing trade studies to select the most weight-efficient design solutions, and working in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment. Responsibilities + Lay out structural load paths for early conceptual designs to meet high-level requirements. + Utilize first principle approaches with a good general knowledge of metallics and composite structures. + Execute trade studies to consider various design solutions and select the most weight-efficient concepts that meet requirements. + Work collaboratively in an IPT environment with design, fabrication, assembly, and other key functions. Essential Skills + Proficiency in Catia, Stress Analysis, Structural Analysis, Engineering, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Femap. + Experience with 10+ years preferred, but candidates with 5-7 years will be considered. + Knowledge of GFEM (Global Finite Element Models) and DFEM (Detail Finite Element Models). + Strong understanding of structural load principles, mechanical engineering, aerospace, and composites. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with conceptual design first principles analysis approaches for primary composite structures. + Knowledge of various composite structures failure modes and limitations, and unique analysis methodologies associated with composites. + Experience in creating, managing, and running GFEMs that can be utilized by the entire stress team. + Ability to create and execute DFEMs. + Capability to create simple working FEMs for conceptual design work to validate design principles. Work Environment This is a long-term contract of at least 18 months to support DOD programs for an aerospace client. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Candidates must be onsite to perform the work at the defense facility. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $110.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
