**Job Description** The Stroke Center Coordinator (SCC) is an individual responsible for the coordination of systems and services required to maintain an organized, interdisciplinary, patient centered Joint Commission certified and New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) designated Stroke Center. Responsibilities include a variety of clinical and administrative functions dedicated to ensure continuity of care, patient satisfaction and compliance with nationally recognized, NYSDOH, The Joint Commission (TJC), and MSHS Standards; as well as an evaluation and improvement of the systems designed to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of comprehensive stroke care delivered. **Qualifications** **Education Requirements** **Master?s Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration or other health-related field.** **Experience Requirements** **3-5 years related neuroscience and stroke care experience.** **Experience with data collection, analysis, and report writing** **Experience with Microsoft Office and other productivity applications required** **Licensing and Certification Requirements** **NYS current clinical licensure (RN, PA and other health care professions)** Non-Bargaining Unit, 535 - Quality Assurance - MSH, Mount Sinai Hospital **Responsibilities** 1. Coordinating all aspects of quality assurance activities of the Stroke Center, together with the identification of patients for inclusion in the hospital stroke center database, data abstraction, collection and the demonstration of performance improvement required by TJC and NYSDOH to maintain their Stroke Center designations. 2. Coordinating the ongoing effort of implementing performance improvement initiatives, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the quality and performance improvement activities required by TJC and NYSDOH to maintain their Stroke Center designations. 3. Preparation of Stroke Center Quality and other related reports in consultation with the Department of Quality & Regulatory Affairs 4. Coordinating quarterly Stroke Center Performance Improvement Committee meetings mandated by New York State Department of Health. 5. Rounds with the clinical team and functions as resource to nursing, providers, and ancillary staff to help ensure compliance with mandated parameters of care. 6. Scheduling and overseeing all Stroke Center related meetings, as well as the ongoing tasks of the committees and subcommittees, including but not limited to: 1. recording and distributing minutes and meeting materials; 2. preparation and distribution of agendas and related documents; 3. maintaining Stroke Center policies and procedures and performance improvement documents 7. Training nurses and other staff in areas related to the clinical requirements and educational efforts of the Stroke Center. 8. Organizing, publicizing, and participating in community stroke education and screening activities and other Stroke Center activities such as the NYS DOH and TJC mandated CME stroke conferences for professionals, and other special events. 9. Coordinating events targeting EMS, urgent care and other key stakeholder groups to provide education regarding stroke management protocols and metrics. 10. Participates in Stroke Center research activities. 11. The salary range for the role is $96461 - $144692 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
