Responsibilities Location – Wichita, KS (On site) Key Accountabilities: Apply knowledge of structural analysis (e.g., materials technology, finite element modeling, static analysis, fatigue analysis, damage tolerance analysis, thermal analysis, vibration analysis, structural testing, etc.) to determine structural adequacy for customer requirements and regulatory compliance; and to collaborate on structural design, manufacturing, and post-delivery of products Areas of expertise may include primary and secondary structural analysis Candidates are expected to perform as individual contributors within a team environment. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related engineering course of study from an ABET accredited program Requires educational credentials meeting the Spirit classification standards for engineers and typically 0 to 1 year of full-time experience in a stress or structural analysis engineering classification / position Preferred Qualifications: GPA of 3.0 or higher Familiarity with detailed FEA, CATIA V5 or similar tools, and classical structural analysis techniques using free body diagrams and internal loads model data Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment Working knowledge of aerospace industry practices and standards Advanced thinking and problem-solving ability Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Strong analytical and organizational skills Familiarity with classical structural analysis techniques, using free body diagrams and internal loads model data Spirit AeroSystems is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy, age, disability, veteran status or any other protected factor under federal, state or local law.
