Get to know us more here (https://www.nppd.com/about-us/our-values) . **Position Summary** The Structural/Civil Drafter I or II position is responsible for revising drawingsutilizing CAD applications (AutoCAD), personal computers, and plotters. Comprehend technical mark-ups, engineering data, and a variety of computer application requirements. Accurately apply designs to standard drawing layouts and metadata to computer applications. Level I is considered entry level and will work on drawings of low to moderate complexity, while level II drafters will be responsible for drawings of moderate to high complexity. **Education, Training and Experience** **Drafter I -** Associate degree in a civil, structural, mechanical, architectural or in a related drafting technology OR post high school education in the civil, structural, mechanical, architectural or in a related technology with one year of experience in a drafting/design environment OR similar military training with one year of experience in a drafting/design environment OR high school diploma/GED with three years of experience in civil, structural, mechanical, architectural or in a related technology in a drafting/design environment. Basic AutoCAD and 3D modeling knowledge and experience preferred. **Drafter II -** Associate degree in a civil, structural, mechanical, architectural or in a related technology with two years of experience in a drafting/design environment OR post high school education in the civil, structural, mechanical, architectural or in a related technology with three years of experience in a drafting/design environment OR similar military training with three years of experience in a drafting/design environment OR high school diploma/GED with four years of experience in civil, structural, mechanical, architectural or in a related technology in a drafting/design environment. Intermediate to advanced AutoCAD knowledge with a minimum of 2 years’ experience required. 3D modeling knowledge and experience preferred. **Licenses and/or Certifications** May require badging for Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS); may require North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) access. **Essential Duties & Responsibilities** **Drafter I:** Create and revise drawings utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) applications, personal computers, and plotters. Comprehend technical mark-ups, engineering data, and a variety of computer application requirements. Accurately apply designs to standard drawing layouts and metadata to computer applications. Research drawing information, vendor, and material resources within and outside NPPD to acquire accurate drawing information. Obtain and record facility information through facility inspections. Ensure drawings accurately reflect facility infrastructure. Assist the Drafting Electrical Group upon request. Provide support for CAD System Technical Analyst as needed. **Drafter II:** Create and revise drawings including but not limited to Substations, Facilities, Standards, Civil, etc. utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) applications (AutoCAD), personal computers, and plotters. Comprehend technical mark-ups, engineering data, and a variety of computer application requirements. Accurately apply designs to standard drawing layouts and metadata to computer applications. Increased complexity level of drawing creation requiring minimal oversite and guidance while achieving and sustaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Independently research drawing information, vendor, and material resources within and outside the District to acquire accurate drawing information. Independently obtain and record facility information through facility inspections while ensuring drawings accurately reflect facility infrastructure. A thorough knowledge of the resources available and the District's facility infrastructure. Ability to work within these resource applications, materials, and facilities to obtain data while requiring minimal oversite and guidance. Assist in the training of other employees. Assist the Drafting Electrical Group upon request. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range.
