Structural Drafter Job Summary

POWER Engineers is seeking a Structural Drafter to join the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Portland office, located in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

Responsibilities Prepare detailed structural drawings for substation projects, including foundations and structural steel Learn, implement, and promote adherence to CAD standards and best practices Interpret and apply client-specific standards, practices, and procedures to ensure project deliverables meet expectations Ensure compliance with POWER’s drafting standards, procedures, and processes Collaborate with project teams to address design challenges and coordinate drafting efforts Seek guidance and mentorship from experienced team members to enhance drafting skills and project knowledge Required Education/Experience Associate’s degree in drafting or equivalent technical education Knowledge of industry-standard practices for concrete, rebar, and structural steel detailing Proficiency in AutoCAD 2020 or later Strong command of the English language with effective written and oral communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external clients Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship Desired Education/Experience 3-5 years of structural drafting experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Formal training or coursework in structural drafting, including the ability to produce shop drawings Experience producing steel and foundation plans, sections, and elevation views Proficiency in preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
