What You’ll Be Doing:

Lead the design and analysis of complex structural projects, applying your technical expertise to develop innovative, safe, and efficient solutions. Conduct detailed structural analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet or exceed all relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards. Create and review structural plans, drawings, and specifications, considering loading conditions, material properties, and environmental impacts across diverse projects. Collaborate with architects, multidisciplinary engineering teams, and project stakeholders to deliver integrated structural solutions that align with project goals and objectives. Perform site visits and structural assessments, evaluating existing conditions and identifying design challenges, with a focus on delivering practical and effective solutions. Prepare and present comprehensive engineering reports, technical documents, and presentations, ensuring clarity, precision, and accessibility for both internal teams and clients. Leverage advanced CAD software and other engineering tools to produce high-quality structural designs with accuracy and attention to detail. Mentor and guide junior engineers and drafters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team. Champion a commitment to quality and compliance, proactively addressing issues to ensure the success of each project. Support project management efforts, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

What You’ll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in California. A minimum of six years of experience in structural engineering, ideally within consulting or similar markets, with a strong portfolio of successful projects. Proficiency in industry-standard structural analysis software (e.g., Risa, RAM, ETABS) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit), with a track record of producing precise and high-quality designs. Deep knowledge of and experience with applying relevant design codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE) to complex engineering projects. Proven leadership in coordinating interdisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and clients, to deliver cohesive and innovative structural solutions. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects simultaneously, consistently delivering on time and within budget while upholding high-quality standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing complex engineering challenges and adapting to evolving project needs. Expertise in seismic design, advanced structural analysis techniques, and sustainable design practices, contributing to enhanced project outcomes. A commitment to continuous professional development, including staying current with industry advancements and pursuing certifications to expand expertise.

Nice to Haves:

Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field. Leadership experience in managing engineering teams or spearheading large-scale projects. Expertise in specialized areas such as façade engineering, earthquake engineering, cold-formed steel design, or specialty structures. Demonstrated success in client engagement and business development, with a proven ability to grow client relationships and secure new projects. Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and experience with collaborative design platforms.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Duties are primarily conducted in a standard office setting, requiring prolonged sitting at a desk or computer table. Occasionally, may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs. Occasionally visiting project locations and performing field inspections, which may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.

Compensation

The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected base salary for a qualified candidate with at least six years of experience is $85,000-$120,000. Additionally, we offer performance-based bonuses to recognize and reward outstanding contributions in each Reporting Center. During the interview process, we'll provide detailed information and address any questions you may have about the overall compensation package and benefits.
