Structural Engineer
Our client, a leading multi-disciplinary boutique firm, is expanding its structural group and is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to drive this growth. Responsibilities:Conduct structural reviews of existing buildings and structuresPrepare detailed condition and evaluation reportsManage and complete engineering design assignments for projects of varying scope and complexityCollaborate on complex engineering design projects with senior engineersUtilize standard engineering methods and techniques to solve structural problemsReview structural engineering shop drawings and calculations in the officePerform field reviews of structural-related construction, such as reinforcing steelApply structural design software in collaboration with senior engineersRecommend technological improvements for the departmentAssist engineers with technical tasks requiring precision in calculations, data accuracy, and adherence to prescribed testing, analysis, design, or computation methodsProvide guidance and direction to junior engineers, student engineers, and techniciansOffer technical advice and direction to the teamParticipate in project meetings involving engineering, project management, operations, and clientsOversee all projects, set clear direction and expectations, maintain staff focus on objectives, and foster teamwork and dedication to achieving goalsPerform project quality checks, and audits, and build lessons learned documentation and improvement plansApply and understand all applicable industry and client standards for design and engineering
Qualifications:Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant softwareDemonstrated leadership abilitiesCommitment to continuous improvementStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to ensure clear communication among team members, clients, contractors, and suppliersAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a teamProven project management skills with the ability to prioritize, organize, and complete work within deadlinesSystematic approach to problem-solvingExcellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft OfficeValid driver’s licenseTechnical proficiency in structural engineering, with knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and standards
