Job Title: Structural Engineer

Job Description

You will report to the Senior PM and Principal on projects while collaborating with geotechnical, architectural, and MEP project members to complete projects. You will develop structural design calculations, structural analysis/research, specifications, and structural drawings. You will also apply ACI, AISC, and IBC building codes, PCI & PTI Design Guidelines to the design of foundations, superstructures, and related building components. Additionally, you may assist with site visits and review testing/inspection/field reports, and work with the Senior Structural Engineer to provide structural research/analysis reports.

ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with geotechnical, architectural, and MEP project members to complete projects.Develop structural design calculations, structural analysis/research, specifications, and structural drawings.Apply ACI, AISC, and IBC building codes, PCI & PTI Design Guidelines to the design of foundations, superstructures, and related building components.Assist with site visits and review testing/inspection/field reports.Work with Senior Structural Engineer to provide structural research/analysis reports.Essential SkillsProficient in Revit and AutoCAD.Knowledge of ACI, AISC, and IBC building codes, PCI & PTI Design Guidelines.Experience with structural design of concrete including precast, conventional and post-tensioned cast-in-place, structural steel, and masonry.Experience with wind/seismic analysis, spread footing, and deep and shallow retention walls.5 or more years of post-grad structural experience.Bachelor of Civil Engineering, or equivalent.Must have EIT and on track towards PE; SE is a plus.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working on parking structures is preferred; experience in commercial, healthcare, industrial, or utilities sectors is transferrable.Work Environment

Located in The Loop with a team size of 18 people in the Chicago office, divided into three teams: Architects (New Design), Restoration, and Studies/Research team. The work hours are 8:30-5pm with flexible options available for early or late arrivals. Initially, the role is 100% in-office, but 1-2 remote days per week may be granted once up and running. You will be provided with a desktop computer and have access to laptops for travel needs. Projects are located throughout the US, with no current projects in Chicago. The company supports project sharing across its offices if projects are slower in certain locations.
