Job Title: Structural Engineer

Job Description

As a Structural Engineer, you will engage in the design and analysis of structural systems using various materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, and wood. Your responsibilities will include slab and floor system design, column design, wall design, foundation design, and lateral analysis. You will coordinate with CAD and BIM departments and ensure drawings are aligned with other disciplines including architects and mechanical engineers. You will also respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, conduct site observations, and attend project meetings.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and analyze structural systems using concrete, steel, masonry, and wood.Perform slab and floor system design, column design, wall design, and foundation design.Conduct lateral analysis and design.Coordinate with CAD and BIM departments.Ensure drawings are in alignment with other disciplines such as architects and mechanical engineers.Respond to RFIs.Review shop drawings.Conduct site observations.Attend project meetings.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Structural or Architectural Engineering is required; a Master’s degree is preferredMust be accredited in the United States2+ years of post-graduate experience in structural design and detailing of low-rise, commercial, residential, institutional, and healthcare facilitiesPost-graduate experience does not include internship experience or experience outside of US standardProficiency in design software such as RAM, TEDDS, RISA, and ADAPT is preferredExperience in structural engineering tasks on building projects.Professional Revit and AutoCAD experienceExperience with shop drawing reviewKnowledge of concrete, wood, precast, CAD, steel, BIM, slab, floor system design, column design, wall design, and foundation designProficiency in structural design software such as RAM, RISA, TEDDS, and ADAPTMust be local or willing to relocate- this is an in-office roleWork Environment

This is a 100% in-office role located in Naperville, with flexible start and end times between 6:00 AM and 9:30 AM. You will work within a small team of tenured Structural Engineers, offering opportunities for mentorship and career growth. Our project portfolio is mixed, including public work such as K-12 schools, municipal buildings, warehouses, and living facilities. The majority of projects are located in Illinois, with some work in Wisconsin and Indiana. Our team enjoys a high retention rate, with many engineers having developed their careers here.
