Structural Engineer
The **Civil Structural Engineer** is responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices. **Essential Responsibilities:** Structural Engineers shall provide complete assistance design services including preparation of structural systems designs, validation of structural integrity of designs using FEM (Finite Element Method) models, foundations, roofs, and site work drawings. This discipline attends meetings as required. This discipline shall also be responsible for selected construction inspections, quality control, submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction managers. In addition, this discipline may be required to travel to areas in the local area outside of the military installation to verify design requirements and quality of work being performed on jobs/projects. **Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:** Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering field The Structural Engineer shall have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience related to the requirements and qualifications necessary to manage and perform the task. SE shall have knowledge of principles of engineering, planning, project programming, and ability to interpret plans and drawings. It is required that the SE be a registered professional engineer in the discipline of civil or structural engineering. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** Works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions.
