ABOUT THE POSITION

Structural Engineer (Bridge and Transportation)

 

Our New England Structures team is looking for a Structural Engineer to work on complex transportation projects across the VHB footprint.

Work on major bridge and other complex transportation projectsProvide technical support/mentorship to junior structural engineering staffPerform oversight of engineering design for bridges and other transportation infrastructurePrepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates and calculation.Perform quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc.

Skills and Attributes

Self-motivated with excellent attention to detailAutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation experienceMust possess strong project management and technical skillsExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsFamiliarity with bridge design and detailing (steel, concrete, prestressed concrete) and seismic analysisFamiliarity with structural engineering software (AASHTOware, LARSA 4D, MDX, midas Bridge, Mathcad, etc.)

Qualifications

5-8 years of experience (preferred 8+ years’ experience) in Bridge/Transportation projects in New EnglandB.S. Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred) (1-2 years may be substituted for a master’s degree)Master’s degree a plusPE license expected
