Structural Engineer
Job Title: Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to manage structural projects, including the design of building systems in various materials. This role involves taking projects from inception to closeout, preparing construction specifications, performing site inspections, and collaborating with other departments to ensure the successful completion of projects.

ResponsibilitiesManage structural projects, including complete design of building systems in hot-rolled steel, cold-formed steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.Take projects from inception to closeout, including preparing project-specific construction specifications and construction administration.Perform calculations, create detailed designs, models, and drawings for structures used in preliminary schematics, design development, construction, and record documents.Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.Prepare cost opinions and written reports.Assist in proposal generation and fee estimates.Work collaboratively with other departments.Establish and maintain client relationships.Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and structural analysis software such as RAM Steel, RAM Elements, RISA Platforms, and ENERCALC.Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in NC or ability to obtain one within six months of hire.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited university.6+ years of experience in Structural Engineering on a variety of project sizes and types.Strong knowledge of mechanics of materials, steel, concrete, masonry, and timber design.Knowledge of building codes, including application of ASCE-7.Ability to create, read, and interpret structural calculations and construction drawings.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong problem-solving skills.Ability to adhere to all deadlines, budgets, and contractual obligations of each project.Additional Skills & QualificationsAdvanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.Ability to collaborate effectively.Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.Ability to drive, visit job sites, walk on rough and uneven terrain, climb and balance on a ladder, and enter a crawlspace as needed.Work Environment

This opportunity is hybrid wokring out of RTP office 3-4 days a week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00
