Job Description
We are seeking a Structural Engineer to conduct structural analysis using software tools and hand calculations. The role involves designing structural elements such as beams, columns, foundations, and connections of moderate complexity. You will ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards, assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets, and coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, construction teams, and project stakeholders. Additionally, you will assist a team leader in structural inspections and assessments, prepare and present technical reports and documentation, and ensure the quality of structural engineering deliverables.
ResponsibilitiesConduct structural analysis using software tools and hand calculations.Design structural elements such as beams, columns, foundations, and connections of moderate complexity.Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards.Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets.Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, construction teams, and project stakeholders.Assist a team leader in structural inspections and assessments.Prepare and present technical reports and documentation.Ensure the quality of structural engineering deliverables.Essential SkillsBS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (MS preferred).Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.3+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering.Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation.High level of detailing and designing with CAD.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with bridge design software like CSiBridge, LARS Bridge, Midas Civil, STAAD Pro, Civil WorkSuite, and MDX Software OpenBridge Designer.Ability to show potential growth and willingness to take on more responsibilities.Interest in shadowing Sr. Engineers through client meetings and understanding the bigger picture.Work Environment
The position is based out of the Edison, NJ office with a hybrid work schedule (2 days in office, 3 days work from home). In-office days are typically Tuesdays and Thursdays. You will work in a highly collaborative Structural Team alongside 4 other teams (Environmental, Civil, Survey, and Transportation). The company provides a laptop for work and reimburses travel to the city/mileage. They offer a compensation program for successful exams, educational benefits up to $2,000 per year for relevant tuition, a 401k match of 4%-5% depending on company performance, and health and dental insurance premiums paid at 50%. Bonuses are given at the end of the year based on company performance, equivalent to one week's paycheck. The company has diversified work including rail work, transportation, airport, bridges, metropolitan work, tunnel work, terminal, historic places, and major infrastructure projects.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
