Job Description
We are seeking a degreed engineer with 3+ years of structural engineering experience. The candidate will be responsible for developing plant site layouts and designing multiple structural buildings and structures across the client site. This role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplined team of engineers, suppliers, and others to coordinate the design of structural buildings and structures. Additionally, the candidate will plan, monitor, and direct complete engineering efforts through project life cycles, develop and implement risk-informed performance-based (RIPB) design criteria, and assist teams in performing risk and hazard assessments.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop plant site layouts and overall design of multiple structural buildings and structures.Collaborate with a multi-disciplined team of engineers, suppliers, and others to coordinate design efforts.Plan, monitor, and direct complete engineering efforts through project life cycles.Develop and implement risk-informed performance-based (RIPB) design criteria.Assist other teams in performing risk and hazard assessments, including probabilistic risk assessment (PRA), failure modes effects analysis (FMEA), and hazard and operability analysis (HAZOP).Evaluate constructability, sequencing, material take-off, cost estimates, schedule development, and modularization concepts with construction teams.Support the development of sustainable, economical, reliable, and safe design for power generation units.Apply civil engineering codes and standards to inform development and implementation of structural design criteria.Execute system or component performance measures, including risk management, scheduling/program planning, document management, cost adherence/variance analysis, earned value, and technical performance measures.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering or related field.3+ years of structural engineering experience.Analytical experience with civil/structural hazard assessment (e.g., fragility analysis, hand calculations, civil structural design and analysis software).Knowledge of civil design software packages such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InRoads, and L-pile.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience supporting project management duties.Experience directing or interfacing with subcontractors.Work Environment
The work environment is an in-office setting, located in Rockville, MD. This role requires being in the office five days a week.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $49.33 - $63.03/hr.
