Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Infrastructure – Transportation business practice in the US Central Sector, based in Chicago. The selected candidate will work under the senior engineers with a focus on transportation/structural related planning and design projects. Project types will be diverse and include, but not be limited to, new structures, rehabilitation of existing structures, and inspections and load rating of existing structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls and transit/railway facilities.  The projects will involve a wide variety of structure types, foundations and materials.

 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Structural design for all project types, including complex bridges Schematic/geometric layout design of new structures Perform analysis and design calculations according to the applicable design codes; use computer programs as appropriate Conduct load rating analysis for bridges Prepare plan drawings and details, construction specifications and design calculations Conduct on-site inspection, analysis and condition assessment of existing structures Construction phase engineering support including reviews of shop drawings and requests for information Assist project managers with scoping and budgeting for structural work and be responsible for quality assurance of deliverables

 

What your experience looks like

BS in Civil/Structural Engineering and EIT certification required. Knowledge AASHTO and bridge analysis, design and detailing preferred. Knowledge of structural analysis software including SAP-CSI, AASHTOWareBrR, LARSA 4D or similar preferred. Proficient with MicroStation and AutoCAD preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Strong project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
