Come join a growing multidisciplinary team of engineers designing the next generation nuclear power plant.

This is a fully onsite position based in either Camden, New Jersey or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office.

The engineer would be called upon to analyze metallic, reinforced concrete, steel-concrete composite and soil-subgrade supported structures. The analyses will support engineering requirements, leading to the licensing and construction of SMR-300 plants across the globe. The engineer will use and learn various methods and software to perform the analyses.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYExecute and document analyses for a variety of structures, systems and components (SSCs)Review available concept designs based on an ambiguous set of requirements, then develop them into mature designs by critical thinking, literature research, interacting with members from other disciplines and vendors, and any analyses as permitted by project milestonesSupport the preparation of design deliverables, presentations, and communicate design progress in stakeholder meetingsSupport development of engineering and licensing requirements and documentation for nuclear SSCs
TYPICAL ANALYSESStatic and dynamic finite element analyses (FEA) using ANSYS, LS-DYNA and STAAD.ProDrop and impact (e.g., missile and aircraft) analyses and target response development using LS-DYNASimulation of the seismic response of freestanding structures in air or submerged in waterStatic and dynamic analyses of large reinforced concrete or steel-concrete composite structuresSoil-structure interaction (SSI) and fluid-structure interaction (FSI) analysesBeam and plate stress calculations using established principles of strength of materials
