Your Key Responsibilities

The role of a Structural Designer is to work independently on smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer. The Structural Designer will be able to perform structural analysis, design and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems. Additional responsibilities include:

Complete calculations and drawings for small projects under Senior Engineer’s guidance Works with and coordinates with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines for coordination of the project Perform Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software. Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clients. Have an understanding of industry standard design processes and understanding of construction means and methods Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service Assist with development of design standards Your Capabilities and Credentials Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of Architects, Engineers, and Owner clients effectively. Experience with BIM modeling software (Autodesk Revit) Experience with general business and industry software (Microsoft Office suite) and Industry standard Structural Engineering software (ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, etc.) Education and Experience No years of experience required, Minimum of (1) one year of related experience is preferred.  Master's Degree required.  Structural EIT is required. 

Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of architects, engineer, and owner client effectively.

Additional Information Salary Range(s): Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s): Location Description: Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC) Min Pay Range: CA Other Areas $72,400 Max Pay Range: CA Other Areas $101,300 Note: The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
