Position Summary

KPFF Orange County Structural is looking for full-time structural engineering professionals who are self-motivated and eager to deepen their knowledge of structural engineering while gaining real-world experience.

This is an Exempt employment position, all overtime hours are paid at an hourly rate.

Desired Education and Experience 

B.S. degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university, M.S. degree with a specialty in Structural Engineering preferred  E.I.T. certification preferred  0-2 years of experience in building design 

Ideal Candidate 

Desires to develop a breadth and depth of knowledge in the field  Communicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing  Excels in collaborative environments  Is familiar with codes and standards applicable to the design and construction of building projects located in California  Is familiar with typically utilized computer software programs (ETABS, RISA-3D, RAM Structural System, SAP2000, SAFE, SP Concrete Design) 

Structural Engineer Responsibilities 

Prepare calculations and construction documents under the supervision of the Project Manager   Perform construction administration services under the supervision of the Project Manager   Interface with clients on project specific issues  Quality control of technical content  Grow in technical knowledge through attendance of in-house education opportunities

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to actively engage with a computer for several hours per day. May occasionally need to lift items up to 15 lbs. Duties require in-person attendance, Monday through Friday, during our business hours of 8 AM to 5 PM at our office in Downtown Los Angeles for the training period. Following a satisfactory training period, a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week in the office may be accommodated.
